Curcumin contained in turmeric is able to protect the body from chronic inflammation and associated neurodegenerative processes.

Neurodegenerative diseases are a group of diseases resulting in which the death of brain cells causes loss of capacity and ability to work, subsequent dementia and complete degradation

As stated in a study published in MDPI, with age, free radicals accumulate in the brain, affecting the development of chronic inflammation. Ultimately, neurodegenerative processes progress, the brain works worse and worse.

A person faces age-related changes – memory deterioration, deterioration in coordination and balance, and decreased concentration.

Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative diseases are becoming more common. This is also due to the fact that with the development of medicine there are more and more elderly people.

Antioxidants fight free radicals. Thus, curcumin, extracted from the rhizome of Curcuma longa, has beneficial neuroprotective properties, scientists noted.

“In addition, curcumin is useful in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, liver and kidney diseases. It has a wide range of biological properties, exhibiting antitumor, antidiabetic and anti-inflammatory properties, says the study.

In Japan, both the spice and the dietary supplement with curcumin are successfully used to maintain mental clarity in older people.< br>
