Open Innovation Forum - 2024: course towards medicinal sovereignty
On April 10-11, the Skolkovo Technopark will host the International Forum “Open Innovations”. Organizer – Skolkovo Foundation (VEB.RF Group), co-organizer – Moscow Government. Two key discussions will be devoted to the prospects for the development of high-tech areas in medicine and the pharmaceutical industry – “Plantain for Russian pharmaceuticals. Comprehensive import substitution of the industry” and “Doctor AI Hurts! Artificial intelligence in healthcare.”

The domestic pharmaceutical industry is faced with new challenges. Many foreign manufacturers have left the Russian market, and supplies of a number of drugs from abroad are intermittent. The new strategy “Pharma-2030”, which was approved by the Russian government last year, implies import substitution in the production of vital and essential drugs (vital and essential drugs). Industry participants are tasked with achieving medicinal sovereignty at all stages – from innovative development to on-line production of vital and essential drugs.

As part of the panel discussion “Plantain for Russian Pharma. “Comprehensive import substitution of the industry,” experts will discuss various aspects of the topic: the supply of Russian pharmaceutical companies and how much it keeps pace with demand, how state corporations and large holdings can help in developing the material and raw material base, what measures of state support the industry needs. Among the speakers are the General Director of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (ARPP) Viktor Dmitriev, the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union (AFPEAEU) Alexey Kedrin, and the Executive Director of the Inpharma Association Vadim Kukava. The discussion will be moderated by Kamila Zarubina, Vice President, Executive Director of the Biological and Medical Technologies Cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation. As part of the cluster, she oversees the development of 6 technological areas: digital health, rehabilitation, pharmaceuticals, gene and cell technologies, agricultural technologies and food technologies, wellness.

At the session “Doctor AI Hurts!” Artificial intelligence in healthcare”, head of the e-health laboratory of the Institute of Digital Medicine of Sechenov University Igor Shaderkin, managing director – director of the Sberbank Health Industry Center Sergei Zhdanov, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Health and the Moscow Department of Health will discuss the status of readiness of the healthcare system in the Russian Federation for the implementation of AI, measures to support projects with AI in development and scaling, problems of trust in artificial intelligence systems.
