Endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova spoke about a study that says that women who smoke e-cigarettes gradually decrease their levels of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH). This is a fertility marker and indicates the number of eggs.

The study examined data from 325,000 women, most of them were no more than 30 years old.

Smoking also affects the fertility of men; because of this, their sperm count decreases, and the speed of their movement slows down.

— Do not forget that long-term vaping is associated with a dozen lung diseases, an increased risk of developing several types of oncology at once, including cheek cancer, heart disease and diabetes, Pavlova wrote in her blog.

Electronic cigarettes are not a safe alternative to regular cigarettes.

1. Impact on the lungs. E-cigarette use can cause a variety of lung problems, including inflammation and bronchial irritation. Research has linked electrons to the development of lung diseases such as obstructive pulmonary disease.

2. Effect on the heart. Using e-cigarettes may increase the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and hypertension. This is due to the presence of nicotine and other chemicals.

3. Impact on the brain. Nicotine present in e-cigarettes can negatively affect the brain in adolescents and young adults, which can lead to problems with memory, attention and learning.

4. Impact on the health of others: Second-hand smoke from e-cigarettes can also be harmful to the health of others, especially children and pregnant women.

5. Risk of poisoning: Low-quality liquids for refilling electronic cigarettes may contain harmful chemicals that can cause poisoning if accidentally ingested into the mouth or skin.
