eyes
Oncologist-mammologist Danail Nazliev told why, in his opinion, it is necessary to remove intraductal papillomas of the mammary glands. Some feel they should be “watched and waited on.”

—But in fact, this is a huge mistake that could lead to wasted time and potentially more serious health problems down the road , — the physician wrote in his blog.

Intraductal papillomas are small benign tumors that can grow in the ducts of the mammary gland. They can degenerate into malignant ones, although very rarely.

Symptoms of intraductal papilloma:

  • discharge from the nipple,
  • pain
  • < li>hardening in the mammary gland.

– As a rule, surgery is recommended for intraductal papillomas, and their removal is absolutely necessary to prevent further complications and possible degeneration into a malignant tumor. It’s better to be safe than sorry later, the expert believes.

Intraductal papillomas can become inflamed under adverse conditions. In this case, the walls of the neoplasm thicken, which can cause breast edema.

The main reason for the development of intraductal papillomas is considered to be hormonal imbalance and diseases that contribute to changes in hormonal homeostasis. These include:

  • ovarian dysfunction
  • oophoritis (ovarian inflammation of nonspecific etiology)
  • adnexitis (infectious and inflammatory process in the fallopian tubes and ovaries)
  • obesity.

Speaking about health in general, the doctor notes that proper nutrition, regular exercise, and proper rest are undoubtedly necessary. But there is another aspect of taking care of your health – regular medical examinations. They will help identify possible problems before they become serious.
