If you take too many painkillers or pain medications with caffeine, you can develop chronic migraines and drug-induced headaches. This was reported by neurologist Maria Shapovalova.

Most often, patients with migraines suffer: it is very difficult to endure, and the person immediately takes the medicine. A kind of addiction arises; a person takes pills even to prevent pain. The analgesic effect gradually decreases, the dose increases.

– Due to this use of drugs, the nature of the headache changes – it becomes chronic and provokes even greater drug abuse, the doctor noted to Gazeta.ru. Ru.”

According to Shapovalova, if you take more than 10-15 painkillers per month, they cause drug-induced headaches. After stopping the medication, it usually disappears.

The doctor advises to relieve headaches with caffeine-free tablets (for example, it is contained in citramon). Caffeine helps the drug work faster, but the risk of developing drug-induced headaches increases.
