Black garlic will help preserve and improve vision. Ophthalmologist Mikhail Konovalov spoke about how this works on the air of the program “Live Healthy!”

Garlic contains allicin, which helps maintain eye health.

“Allicin increases the amount of nitric oxide in the blood – that is, the vessels dilate and the blood supply to the retina improves, thus we preserve our vision,” said Konovalov.

Allicin good for overall health:

Antibacterial properties. Allicin has strong antibacterial properties and can help fight various bacterial infections. It can kill or slow the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.

Antivirus properties. Allicin helps fight viral infections. Some studies show its effectiveness against influenza and cold viruses.

Antioxidant properties. Allicin is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells from free radical damage. This may help fight inflammation and reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

Reducing cholesterol levels. Allicin can reduce the level of total cholesterol and “bad” cholesterol (LDL) in the blood. It is useful for maintaining the health of the heart and blood vessels.

Antifungal properties. Allicin has antifungal properties and helps fight fungal infections such as candidiasis and dermatophytosis.

It is worth considering that allicin can cause side effects and interact with some medications. Therefore, before using it as a treatment or prevention, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Black garlic– a product obtained by fermenting ordinary garlic under certain conditions. As a result of this process, the garlic becomes black in color, soft in texture, and has a sweetish flavor with hints of caramel. During fermentation, chemical reactions occur that change the composition and properties of garlic. As a result, new compounds are formed, such as sulfides, which give black garlic its characteristic taste and aroma.
