An advanced approach in the treatment of diabetes mellitus

Advanced approach in the treatment of diabetes mellitus
Type 2 diabetes has been and remains a widespread problem of our time. It most often develops in people over 40 years of age who are overweight, but it can also develop in younger people and people of normal weight. Alexander Yuryevich Shishonin, Candidate of Medical Sciences, director and chief physician of the clinical complex “Doctor Shishonin’s Clinic” believes that type 2 diabetes is not a disease. Why he is sure of this and how this can affect the recovery of people with this diagnosis, you will find out in this interview.

– What diseases do people come to your clinic most often, besides hypertension?

A.Yu.:After hypertension, with a slight difference, obesity and type 2 diabetes are treated. Due to the speed of its spread, many experts classify diabetes as a non-infectious pandemic. Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, strokes, amputations and premature death. According to WHO statistics, between 1980 and 2014, the number of people with diabetes increased from 108 million to 422 million. In the coming years, experts expect a further twofold increase in the number of patients with type 2 diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes develops gradually and is characterized by a mild or asymptomatic course. Detection occurs by chance or during examination of patients with diseases often combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus – obesity, coronary heart disease, hypertension, etc. By the time it is diagnosed, most often, diabetes has already dealt a significant blow to the patient’s health.
Traditional medicine offers a wide variety of medicines to combat this disease, but these drugs do not get rid of the disease, but only maintain the patient in a viable state. There is such a popular English phrase – go through the motions. It means performing all the required actions and movements, but without any hope that they will give the desired result.

– What is the reason for the explosive growth of diabetes?

A.Yu.:The reasons are simple – physical inactivity, stress or injury that disrupts blood flow and nutrition to the brain. As a result of brain starvation, the hypothalamus, noting a chronic lack of oxygen and nutrients, begins to fight this condition. It causes the heart to contract harder and the kidneys to retain fluid, all in order to increase blood pressure and somehow push blood through the pinched vessels of the neck. However, the problem of lack of oxygen in the brain remains, and hypertension occurs. The next step is that the hypothalamus sends a signal to the pancreas to reduce insulin production and increase glucagon production. Glucagon is an insulin antagonist. And insulin is the pass, the key that opens the cell doors for glucose to enter. Glucose is a cellular fuel, like gasoline for a car. The logic of the hypothalamus here is simple: if there is not enough energy in the form of oxygen, you need to switch to another source of energy – glucose.

The cells of our body have two options for energy supply: oxygen and oxygen-free – that is, with the help of glucose. And it is this option that leads to obesity and type 2 diabetes. In fact, type 2 diabetes is not a disease – it is a symptom of a gross disruption of the blood flow of two centers: the hypothalamus and the rhomboid fossa.

– It turns out that to get rid of diabetes you just need to restore the nutrition of the brain?

Advanced approach in the treatment of diabetes mellitus2
A.Yu.:Yes, but it's not that simple. Most patients consult a doctor already at a late stage of the disease, when the flywheel of the disease has already started and numerous complications from diabetes have developed, such as neuropathy, ophthalmopathy, nephropathy. And we take all these factors into account when choosing non-drug therapy.

– What do you mean bynon-drug therapy?

A.Yu.:By non-drug therapy, I mean primarily the restoration of blood supply to the hypothalamus and the connection between the center and the periphery. Without this, nothing will work. A rational diet is also required; this is not a diet with many restrictions, it is an understanding of what and why a person eats. An integral part is physical activity according to a special program under the supervision of professional trainers, taking into account multiple concomitant diseases of patients with diabetes or obesity.

– Do you really not use medications at all?

A.Yu.: Only in emergency, most severe cases, we can use auxiliary means as a push, as a temporary measure.

– And can you recover?

A.Yu.: Yes, this is confirmed by many years of experience and thousands of cured patients. After treatment at Dr. Shishonin’s Clinic, excess weight will go away, sugar and blood pressure will normalize. Everyone needs health and beauty and this is not something you should skimp on. So don’t miss this opportunity!
