Toxicologist Mikhail Kutushov: the body can suffer because of the wrong choice of snacks for alcohol.

Mikhail Kutushov said in an interview that inappropriate snacks for alcoholic beverages can harm the liver, stomach, pancreas, and cardiovascular system. Speaking about the most harmful snacks for alcohol, the toxicologist recommended not to use smoked foods, fried meat, fish, confectionery for this purpose.

“All smoked sausages, fried meat and fish, together with alcohol, cause serious harm. Such food strains the pancreas, the stomach and, most importantly, the liver, which is already “busy” in destroying alcohol,” the scientist explained to Gazeta.Ru.
In turn, sweets with alcohol form a very large dose of carbohydrates, which will begin to overload the pancreas. According to Kutushov, you don’t even need to snack on sweet fruits such as watermelon, melon or grapes. The specialist warned that other food components are generally poorly combined with these fruits containing polysaccharides – combinations with them often cause bloating, flatulence, cramps and pain in the abdomen.
“The ideal snack during a feast is lard, butter and pickles.”
The expert explained that salty snacks can be beneficial because alcohol reduces the regulation of water-salt balance, increases urination and causes dehydration. Salty will encourage you to drink more fluids.
