Neurologist Andrei Galkin spoke about products for the prevention of poor blood supply to the brain, which can cause a stroke.

Doctor Galkin stated: the risk of such a dangerous disease as a stroke can be reduced with the help of nutrition. According to the neurologist, stroke is primarily protected from foods that provide good blood supply to the brain. First of all, the doctor recommended eating fatty fish. Moreover, among the foods for good blood supply to the brain, the neurologist also named affordable and inexpensive herring.

“To improve blood circulation in the brain, you should add fatty fish with omega-3 to your diet: mackerel, tuna, salmon, herring. Such foods can increase the elasticity of blood vessels and reduce the risk of blood clots,” Andrey Galkin noted in an interview with Lenta.ru.
In addition, to strengthen the health of the central nervous system, the doctor advised eating nuts. The neurologist called this product useful in general for the cardiovascular system. The main advantage of nuts (and seeds) is the high content of anti-inflammatory substances-antioxidants. Onions, garlic, citrus fruits, berries, and green tea also provide the body with antioxidants.

Another component of the diet that effectively improves blood circulation, the doctor believes, is fiber – it should also be present in the daily diet. Its best suppliers are whole grains, berries, vegetables.

Additionally, the neurologist noted that it is important to maintain proper posture for the brain to be in good condition.

“To avoid health problems, it is important to monitor blood pressure and cholesterol, work on your posture, because with an incorrect body position, the carotid artery is often pinched and blood flow to the brain is limited,” the doctor noted.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that an accessible prevention of heart attack and stroke is a short daytime sleep or even just a nap.
