Oncologist Maxim Astrakhantsev said that some foods consumed at the table during the holidays can affect the development of malignant diseases.

Oncologist Astrakhantsev named alcohol and sausage cuts are a source of carcinogens during the holidays.

“Alcohol is the main “holiday” carcinogen,” a doctor said in an interview with RIAMO.
The specialist advised that during the coming New Year holidays we should limit ourselves to a symbolic glass of alcohol at the table. Oncologist Astrakhantsev stated that uncontrolled consumption of alcohol is a carcinogenic factor: its abuse is associated with susceptibility to throat cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer.

In addition, the oncologist considers sausage cuts or cuts from finished processed meat. According to the doctor, such products contain artificial components in the form of preservatives and flavoring additives, the use of which seriously increases the risk of colorectal cancer (colon and rectal cancer).

“To reduce the risk of cancer, it is recommended to replace sausages and cuts with natural meat that has not undergone technological processing,” shared oncologist Maxim Astrakhantsev.
In addition, he recommended refraining from eating sprats and industrially produced sweets. Such products can also be a source of unwanted additives that act on the body as carcinogens.
