Nutriciologist Veronika Gusakova advised Russians not to be afraid of potatoes – consume this product in moderation is useful for various reasons. The specialist noted that the presence of potatoes in the diet has a beneficial effect on the skin.

“Potatoes help improve the condition of the skin thanks to the vitamin C it contains, which is involved in the synthesis of collagen,” Veronika Gusakova told NEWS.ru.
She added that potatoes are also a product with antioxidant properties – thanks to its consumption, cell protection from the destructive effects of free radicals.

Gusakova added that eating potatoes is not harmful even for people who are losing weight.

“Many people who are losing weight mistakenly exclude potatoes from their diet. In fact, this should not be done, since the starch contained in the product does not cause spikes in glucose, lowers cholesterol levels and normalizes intestinal function,” explained the nutritionist.
Another advantage of early potatoes is their saturation with potassium, which activates the removal of excess fluid from the body and is involved in the regulation of blood pressure. Thus, eating potatoes has a positive effect on the condition of blood vessels and the heart.
