Expert Lyalina: eating radish lowers blood sugar and stimulates the immune system

According to Irina Lyalina, radish eaten in spring saturates the body with vitamins and stimulates the immune system.

Expert Lyalina noted that radish is rich in nutritional fiber and has a low glycemic index. The specialist said that eating radish can lower blood sugar levels.

“Radish of any variety is a low-glycemic index vegetable, which is why it is effective for weight loss, including for patients with both types of diabetes, and lowers blood sugar levels,” shared Irina Lyalina with Life.ru.
She added that the spicy root vegetable is saturated with vitamin C, due to which it stimulates the immune system, prevents blood thickening and the formation of blood clots.

“Radish also has a diuretic and choleretic effect, cleanses the body of toxic substances, normalizes intestinal motility, improves brain function , enhances skin regeneration,” added the expert.
Lyalina explained that the properties of radish are due to high concentrations of B vitamins, vitamin E, vitamin PP (nicotinic acid), as well as microelements in the form of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc.

At the same time, she warned scientist, it is contraindicated to eat radishes if you have problems with the gastrointestinal tract.
