Beetroot Juice Proven to Prevent Heart Attacks

Scientists have been able to verify that due to the regular intake of beetroot juice, the risk of a heart attack becomes significantly lower.

Scientists representing the British Heart Foundation conducted a study , in which beetroot juice has proven its ability to prevent heart attacks. In particular, this occurs with the daily use of this drink.

“Daily consumption of beetroot juice for six months after stent placement reduces the risk of a second heart attack in patients with angina pectoris.” – scientists reported the results of the study at the conference of the British Cardiovascular Society in Manchester.
As it turned out, patients suffering from angina pectoris, who underwent surgery to install a stent, subsequently began to experience serious disturbances in cardiac activity. Scientists examined 300 people. 16 percent of them experienced heart problems after stent surgery, and some needed a second operation.

However, with daily consumption of beetroot juice, the figure dropped to 7 percent. According to the researchers, the positive effect of beet juice on the heart is due to the presence of inorganic nitrate, which belongs to nitric acid salts. Once in the body, it is converted into nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, helping to expand with blood flow without the risk of damage.

Scientists have shown that women are more likely to have heart attacks on holidays

Specialists admit that the use of beetroot juice may be included in the treatment plan for patients who have undergone stent implantation. Whether this is so, will be shown by a new study, which will begin soon and will be more extensive.
