According to psychologist Elena Krymova, developing stress tolerance is a useful skill for maintaining good mental health.

Psychologist Krymova advised learning the ability to tolerate stress. This helps prevent the development of distress with constant tension and anxiety, which can lead to physical and mental problems.

“Every person can develop resistance to stress, despite their initial data. This is a psychological skill that helps to quickly adapt to various circumstances,” the specialist said in a commentary to MIR 24.
Elena Krymova informed that an established sleep pattern helps to increase stress resistance, when a person goes to bed and wakes up at the same time. Sleep should be long enough: about 7 or 8 hours daily.

Regular physical activity also helps increase stress resistance. Psychologist Krymova advised devoting at least a little time a day to walks, yoga, stretching, exercise – even if it only takes 15 minutes.

Another way is to keep a diary in which you should record your thoughts and feelings.
In addition, Elena Krymova called listening to music and meditation useful for developing stress resistance.

“It’s enough to focus on your breathing for 10 minutes,” she added.
