Oncologist Ivanov: broccoli and tomatoes reduce the risk of developing cancer, doctor Vorobyov urged to eat garlic and nuts

Regular consumption of certain foods reduces the risk of developing cancer. These products include coffee, broccoli, tomatoes and others, Anton Ivanov, the chief physician of the Mamma clinic, oncologist, oncosurgeon, and chemotherapist, told Gazeta.Ru about this.

“Broccoli and cauliflower contain antioxidants that may help reduce the risk of breast cancer, and coffee helps in preventing skin cancer. In addition, tomatoes and blueberries contain lycopene, which is also known for its preventive properties,” explained Ivanov.
According to the oncologist, whole grains, rich in anti-cancer antioxidants, dietary fiber and phytoestrogens, help prevent cancer colon.

“Dark greens from the cruciferous family, such as arugula, contain carotenoids, which have antioxidant properties and prevent the development of certain types of cancer,” said the oncologist.
Nuts, berries and fruits also help in the fight against cancer , which are a source of vitamins and minerals.

“Besides cruciferous vegetables, there are other foods that can help prevent cancer due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties,” – says oncologist Andrey Vorobiev specially for MedicForum.

Berries such as blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and cranberries contain high levels of anthocyanins and other antioxidants, which help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals and reduce the risk of cancer.
