Infectious disease specialist Neronov warned about the dangerous consequences of body contact with sea water. He said that swimming in the sea can cause an infectious disease. According to the specialist, sea water contains many bacteria, including pathogenic ones for the body. In addition, it may contain pollutants, viruses.

“Sea water may be contaminated with bacteria, viruses, chemicals or other pollutants, which can cause infections or other diseases upon contact with them,” noted Vladimir Neronov in a commentary to RIAMO.
He added that studies have shown: sea water can be a factor in gastrointestinal tract (GIT) infections and inflammatory processes in the ears.
