Gynecologist Ilyina: insomnia in women under 40 occurs with early ovarian depletion

Gynecologist Anna Ilyina: some negative changes in the condition of women under 40 years of age can be caused by ovarian depletion syndrome.

Gynecologist Ilyinskaya informed that ovarian depletion is one of the “female” pathologies. Women with a normal menstrual cycle and reproductive function face a similar disorder. Their body suddenly stops producing enough sex hormones and eggs.

“They talk about early ovarian failure if a woman is under 40 years old. With this pathology, the egg stops maturing. In response to a decrease in ovarian function, the production of sex hormones by the ovaries, primarily estrogen and progesterone, also decreases,” Ilyina shared with Gazeta.Ru.
Calling the symptoms of this pathology, the gynecologist noted that insomnia occurs in women under 40 years of age with early ovarian depletion.

  • Decreased libido;
  • Vaginal dryness;
  • Mood swings, depression;
  • Increased irritability;
  • Tearfulness;
  • Insomnia;
  • Excessive sweating.

The doctor emphasized that when the ovaries are depleted, the nature of the menstrual cycle changes: menstruation becomes more rare and scanty, and after a while it can stop completely.

Ilyina drew attention to the fact that one of the causes of the problem may be reduced activity of the thyroid gland (hypothyroidism ), so it is important for women to check the condition of their thyroid gland from time to time. In addition, ovarian depletion can develop as a result of operations to remove cysts or a hereditary factor.
