Doctor of Medical Sciences Lyudmila Salamatina: the level of leukocytes can increase due to infections and change differently due to cancer.

Dr. Salamatina said that leukocytes are blood cells responsible for the destruction of foreign cells and viruses – their level is associated with the activity of the immune system. Deviation from it can occur either upward or downward. Similar changes in the level of leukocytes occur against the background of various diseases.
