Doctor Olga Ulankina: with multiple sclerosis, a person does not feel rested even after a full sleep.

Doctor Ulankina reminded what a disease like multiple sclerosis is characterized by destruction of the myelin sheath of nerve fibers, which disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses. This results in problems with vision, movement of arms or legs, sensation, or body balance. If the pathology affects areas of the nervous system responsible for thinking, then cognitive functions are impaired. Over time, as the disease progresses, a person becomes disabled.

“Multiple sclerosis is a disease of the young. Quite often it develops in people under 40 years of age, and in some cases it debuts already in adolescence. Women suffer from multiple sclerosis approximately two to three times more often than men,” Ulankina warned in a comment to Life.ru.

Ulankina named another characteristic symptom as a feeling of numbness and tingling in the limbs.

In addition, with the development of multiple sclerosis, vision problems may arise in the form of blurred pictures, double vision, deterioration of vision in one eye.
