Doctor Alexander Myasnikov: statins prescribed to lower cholesterol may provide cancer prevention.

Dr. Myasnikov told the Russians that the drugs that patients with high cholesterol usually take – statins – are also known in medicine as cancer-fighting drugs. According to the famous physician, statins have an anti-inflammatory effect and can reduce the risk of several types of cancer at once.

“Statins reduce the risks of kidney, liver and lung cancer. They are officially included in the chemoprophylaxis of oncology,” the specialist stated.
Also, he added, thanks to taking statins, the likelihood of osteoporosis, a pathology characterized by increased fragility and fragility of bones, is reduced.

Alexander Myasnikov emphasized that a person must take statins prescribed by a doctor. Patients are often wary of taking this medication, citing possible side effects of these drugs. The doctor said that there is no need to be afraid of them.

“We are afraid of side effects, but this happens to one in a hundred. If you take them without side effects, then drink them: they definitely won’t make you worse,” the doctor concluded.
The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote that ordinary sunflower seeds effectively improve neural connections in the brain and cognitive functions.
