Valery Garkalin dies of coronavirus
Popular Russian actor Valery Garkalin has become another celebrity whose life was cut short by the coronavirus. The sad list continues to grow.

People's Artist of Russia Valery Garkalin died at the age of 68 after a difficult fight with coronavirus. He fell ill at the beginning of October, suffered a severe illness and spent a long time in intensive care. Unfortunately, Valery Garkalin was not vaccinated against the coronavirus, and his body never coped with this fight, despite all the efforts of doctors. Garkalin is not the only celebrity in our country who passed away due to the coronavirus. One of the first stars was Boris Grachevsky, who died on January 14 of this year. Soon the People's Artist of the Soviet Union Vasily Lanovoy also passed away, who died at the age of 88.

The famous theater director Roman Viktyuk, the creator of his own theater and unique stage style, has died at the age of 85. Like Grachevsky, Viktyuk had a severe concomitant disease – cancer. The appearance of the coronavirus was the last straw for the body. On January 2, 2021, Vladimir Korenev, who became famous for his leading role in the science fiction film Amphibian Man, died in the hospital from the effects of COVID-19.

Another famous victim of the coronavirus was the actor Boris Plotnikov, whom we remember for his role as Dr. Bormenthal in the film Heart of a Dog. The disease claimed the host of the Russian Lotto program, Mikhail Borisov, and the satirist writer Anatoly Trushkin. This spring, another popular Russian actor Vladimir Kachan passed away. According to Iosif Reichelgauz, artistic director of the School of Modern Play, Kachan refused to be vaccinated until the very end, as he was afraid of allergies. (READ MORE)
