One in three Americans believe the pandemic is over
A third of all US citizens believe the COVID-19 pandemic is over. They are returning to their normal lives, including visits to cafes and walks in shopping centers, despite the continued increase in cases across the country.

Americans prefer to ignore the new jump in the incidence in the United States, which already exceeds 140,000 cases per day. Obviously, US citizens are tired of experiencing a negative background in connection with the pandemic, and they really want it to end. Now, one in three Americans already believe that this has happened, and most have returned to the lifestyle they led before covid, including visiting cafes, meeting friends, picnics and walking around the mall.

A sociological survey showed that 30% of Americans consider the pandemic to be over, while as many as 60% of supporters of the Republican Party are especially confident that the virus that has dominated the planet for the past two years has already become a thing of the past. But even among those who see the pandemic as an ongoing phenomenon, most are returning to normal. More than 60% of survey participants said they lead the same lifestyle as before the start of 2020.

Meanwhile, the statistics in the US are not encouraging yet. After a sharp decline in the incidence against the backdrop of a wave provoked by the Omicron strain in mid-January this year, the numbers crept up again. On some days they exceed 140,000 per day, and on some they are at the level of 100,000. These are the highest levels since February of this year. The average daily death rate from coronavirus over the past week in the US is 340 cases per day, a 35% decrease from 7 days earlier. (READ MORE)
