mug
Doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov listed factors that will help prevent the formation of gallstones. He put ascorbic acid in first place on the list.

— Vitamin C supplements may have a protective effect on gallstones. The benefit of ascorbic acid may be due to its effect on cholesterol catabolism and the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids, the doctor wrote in his blog.

Polyunsaturated fats: sea fish, Omega -3 and nuts.

Coffee. The lowest risk was observed among patients with the highest levels of coffee consumption.

Physical activity. More than 45,000 men participated in the study. Of these, 828 developed symptomatic gallstones during the eight-year follow-up period. Those who exercised regularly had much lower risks.

Statins. The protective effect of statins begins to appear after about 1-1.5 years of use.

Myasnikov expressed his opinion on the topic: whether to remove asymptomatic gallstones or not.
