Those who suffer from liver disease, gall bladder, and high acidity should avoid eating pepper, Kabanov noted.

He called tomatoes an “extremely acidic product” that can significantly increase the acidity of the stomach. Tomatoes should not be eaten on an empty stomach and should also be limited to one per day.

Garlic and onions can cause harm to the gastrointestinal tract, so they should be consumed with extreme caution.

Vegetables in measured quantities bring great benefits to the body, The main thing is to know when to stop, the doctor noted.

Dietitian, nutritionist, phytotherapist Angelica Duval also noted that sweet peppers can be harmful in some cases. They contain alkaloids that should be excluded from the diet of anyone suffering from liver, kidney, and excretory system diseases.

— Peppers are also not recommended for use in cases of arrhythmia, angina, joint diseases, acute gastritis, and ulcerative diseases, — Duval said.
