Oncologist-mammologist Danail Nazliev told how to detect breast cancer at an early stage, which can be successfully treated.
The doctor advises regular examinations and Ultrasound of the mammary glands. Oncological disease detected in time can be defeated.
– Ultrasound is the best way to detect breast cancer at an early stage. It can detect tumors when they are small – less than 1 centimeter. It's about the size of a pea. And it can detect them before you or your doctor can feel them. But many women do not pass this examination. And of those who do, many do it irregularly,– the doctor wrote in his telegram channel.
Ultrasound of the mammary glands should be done, according to him, at least once a year, and preferably once every six months. This can save your life, the physician emphasized.
The doctor gives some advice if you have discovered a neoplasm. The most important thing is not to panic.
Not all growths are malignant. Less than one percent of all breast tumors are malignant.
Any tumor should be checked by a doctor.
Do not refuse appointments. Your doctor will most likely order a mammogram and/or ultrasound.
If the tumor turns out to be malignant, don't panic anyway. The sooner treatment is started, the more likely it is to defeat cancer.
How does breast cancer begin?
Discomfort and a feeling of fullness in the mammary gland, changes in the nipples may begin ( color, location, shape), soreness in the armpit.
