Russian doctors have drawn attention to pearl barley and semolina porridge as products that cleanse the intestines of toxins and make people look younger.

Breakfasts that include porridge have a positive effect on the functioning of internal organs, which also has a positive effect on appearance. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, citing data from the portal healthy-pitanie.rf. Its experts – doctors – reminded that porridges from whole grains are a source of useful “slow” carbohydrates, giving the body protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

“We are not only talking about the usual oatmeal and buckwheat, which help improve digestion and help remove excess cholesterol from the body. It is worth paying attention to pearl barley and semolina porridge. The latter product, if you remember its high calorie content and do not overeat, can also benefit the body.”
Doctors pointed out the benefits of semolina and pearl barley porridge. According to them, semolina has an enveloping effect: by covering the walls of the stomach and intestines, it promotes more effective healing of various injuries in the gastrointestinal tract, protects its mucous membrane from irritation. Experts also noted the benefits of semolina for the nervous system (it contains B vitamins) and its ability to activate the processes of cleansing the body of unnecessary, potentially toxic substances.

Pointing out the advantages of pearl barley, experts stated that it also helps to establish healthy functioning of the intestines, promotes its cleansing from toxins, and prevents constipation. In addition, pearl barley contains the amino acid lysine, which is involved in the production of the “protein of youth” collagen – therefore, its consumption improves the characteristics and appearance of the skin.
