Elena Solomatina: a plant such as mint has effects that worsen the well-being of some people.

Mint has a number of benefits: many use it as a means of helping to calm down and sleep normally. In addition, the ability of the aromatic plant to improve digestion due to its choleretic effect and help with nausea is known. Mint also has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system – one of its components, rutin, strengthens the walls of blood vessels.

But nutritionist Solomatina warned that people with low blood pressure should not consume mint.

“The plant promotes the expansion of blood vessels and capillaries, it is often used as a means of lowering blood pressure. Those who have their own low blood pressure should not get carried away with mint, since it can drop even more,” the doctor noted in an interview with Sputnik radio.
Solomatina noted that mint can cause allergies and, in addition, contains a lot of phytoestrogens. Men should avoid mint.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that it is useful for people with high blood pressure to eat strawberries, biologist Vitaly Napolov said about this.
