Nutritionist Elena Solomatina: if you give up sweets, sugar will still enter the body, since it is present in many foods.

Nutritionist Solomatina shared the opinion that it is impossible to completely give up sugar.

“Sugar enters the human body not only in the form of factory-made sweets, but also, among other things, in the form of carbohydrates, vegetables or fruits,” the expert said in an interview with Vechernyaya Moskva.
Solomatina clarified: even if in the diet there will be no cookies, sweets, pastries, cakes or white bread, the supply of glucose will not stop completely, its sources will be porridge and whole grain cereals, pasta, potatoes and other vegetables, milk, fruits.

“Only meat and fats don’t contain sugar, but you can’t eat only these foods. To maintain health, you need to balance your diet, so foods containing sugar cannot be completely replaced,” stated the nutritionist.
Elena Solomatina noted that modern people often have excess glucose in the blood. If it is constant and not corrected in any way, the risks of many problems increase, including cardiovascular diseases, pathologies of the joints, eyes, and skin. The brain may also be affected.

The nutritionist is convinced that almost all people today need to control the amount of sugar in their diet (primarily those who have diabetes, insulin resistance, excess weight, atherosclerosis). The specialist advised from an early age to accustom children to a diet without added sugar – this will be a good prevention of craving for sweets, which increases due to stress in adulthood and contributes to obesity.

Earlier, the portal MedikForum.ru wrote that the doctor – endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova advised freezing homemade bread – this reduces the risk of an insulin surge after eating it.
