Nutritionist Novikova: oatmeal is not such a healthy breakfast

Oatmeal should not be considered the most useful breakfast, says nutritionist Ekaterina Novikova.

According to nutritionist Novikova, mold often begins to develop in oatmeal, and in this case, the dish from it can be harmful to health.

“Some components of oatmeal can cause hair loss or cause an allergic reaction,” the expert warned.
Novikova noted that many people cook oatmeal with sugar or add sugary ingredients to it. All this significantly increases the carbohydrate load of such food, provokes sharp fluctuations in blood sugar levels.

Nutritionist Novikova stated that breakfast should provide the body primarily with protein and healthy fats. In the first meal of the day, there should be mainly foods containing them.

Speaking about why oatmeal is not such a healthy breakfast, the specialist also drew attention to the fact that when it is digested, useful substances, mineral salts and trace elements are more intensively excreted from the body. You should not eat oatmeal every day, its presence in the diet is appropriate two or three times a week.

A nutritionist explained why it is harmful to eat sugar and sweets products with trans fats can be dangerous for blood vessels.
