Dietitian Meshcheryakova said in an interview that in the diet in the fall should include beets.

“In the autumn, regular consumption of this product is recommended (up to 500–700 grams per week), mainly fresh. And also don’t forget about the beneficial properties of beet leaves, which can be used in salads, soups, vegetable side dishes and even baked goods,” the specialist shared with Life.
The doctor clarified that this seasonal vegetable is a source of magnesium, potassium, iron, iodine, vitamin C and a number of B vitamins and antioxidants. Drinking beet juice has a positive effect on hypertension, stimulates and helps normalize digestion, improves hematopoiesis.

In addition, Meshcheryakova added, the diet in the fall should include cabbage and tomatoes, Jerusalem artichoke, turnips – all these are vegetables that can give the body a large amount of substances that improve health and support the functioning of the immune system.
