Nutritionist Gusakova said in an interview with NEWS.ru that bananas have a number of useful properties. In particular, they are a rich source of vitamin B6, which improves immune system function.

“High in vitamin B6, bananas are especially beneficial for people with arthritis and asthma. In addition, its high content helps reduce inflammation in the body and improve the functioning of the immune system,” said the specialist.
Gusakova added that bananas also contain other B vitamins, as well as vitamins A and C, trace elements in the form of magnesium, potassium, silicon, phosphorus, and iron. Often this product is singled out as a rich source of potassium, which helps strengthen bones and joints, support the functioning of the kidneys and heart.

One of the disadvantages of bananas is their high calorie content and abundance of sugars. It should be remembered: the riper the banana, the more sugary it is and the higher its glycemic index. It is better to eat less ripe bananas, watching their quantity.
