Nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg: grapes, peaches and bananas are prohibited for diabetics.

It is generally accepted that in diabetes, all sweets are contraindicated, including the gifts of nature. But nutritionist Ginzburg stated in a conversation with Moscow 24 that some berries and fruits are allowed for diabetics.

“The simplest recommendation that a doctor will give to a person with diabetes is to eat a small amount of not too sweet fruits or unsweetened berries,” said Mikhail Ginzburg.
He added that people with diabetes can enjoy green unsweetened apples, strawberries, raspberries – they all have a low glycemic index. Berries and fruits should be eaten after meals, the nutritionist shared.

Ginsburg also named the gifts of nature that are prohibited in diabetes. According to him, diabetics should give up grapes, ripe bananas, peaches, and sweet apricots, since these fruits contain a large amount of sugar in their composition.

The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote that people without diabetes should not completely give up sugar.
