Cardiovascular surgeon Viktor Baldin: giving up bad habits has a healing effect on the heart.

Doctor Baldin told aif.ru about the methods of heart healing available to Russians. He emphasized that people's lifestyle has a significant impact on their susceptibility to heart disease.

“Lifestyle plays a major role in restoring the functioning of the cardiovascular system. “Giving up bad habits, normalizing your daily routine, and moderate physical activity have a beneficial effect on the heart,” the doctor shared.
Viktor Baldin added that the best protection factor against the development of heart attacks is a healthy diet. According to the doctor, it is useful to eat foods high in omega-3 fatty acids to maintain heart function.

“To reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels, it is useful to eat foods rich in folic acid, antioxidants and magnesium. These include black beans, olive oil, walnuts, avocados, soy protein,” the specialist added to the recommendations.
In addition, Baldin recommended that heart patients eat low-fat yogurts and whole oatmeal for breakfast. Berries and fruits are great for dessert: eating cherries, blueberries, prunes, and oranges helps improve your heart health.

Also, the doctor should pay attention to the importance of monitoring chronic diseases – their presence can negatively affect the heart. It is necessary to undergo regular medical examinations and take prescribed medications, the expert summarized.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about the symptoms that can indicate atrial fibrillation.
