Representatives of Rospotrebnadzor named products that help prevent the development of iodine deficiency, which is dangerous to health.
The Rospotrebnadzor Office for the city of St. Petersburg recalled that more than a third of Russian residents suffer from iodine deficiency, although people often do not suspect it.
“Symptoms such as dry and decreased skin elasticity, weight gain, deterioration in memory, vision and concentration, arrhythmia, swelling, sweating, apathy, lethargy, and depression indicate iodine deficiency. Symptoms also include thyroid dysfunction and irregular menstrual cycles in women,” the experts noted.
According to experts, the quality of nutrition is of great importance in preventing dangerous iodine deficiency, since the body mainly receives iodine from food. A simple solution to replenish the lack of iodine can be the use of iodized salt. Also, its sources to varying degrees are different products. For example, experts shared that nuts and milk, seafood, meat, many fresh vegetables and fruits help to replenish the lack of iodine in the body.
Experts advise monitoring the level of iodine and, if you suspect its deficiency in the body, consult a doctor, writes vecherka-spb.ru.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that scientists named a life-shortening food that is more dangerous in its destructive effect than sugar and fatty meat
