Ice cream in moderation is a good addition to the diet, if it is of high quality: its use is associated with a number of useful properties, said Yulia Stepochkina.

The expert said in an interview that good quality ice cream, consisting of natural ingredients, provides the body with the nutrients it needs – fats, proteins, carbohydrates. In particular, Stepochkina noted that the use of ice cream can bring certain health benefits. In such a product, milk fat of animal origin is contained in a high concentration, but at the same time, it contains enzymes that help break down fat.

“Also, ice cream is rich in useful trace elements. Ice cream is made on the basis of milk, it gives energy, has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and metabolic processes of the body, improves immunity,” the expert listed, talking to Gazeta.Ru.
Stepochkina clarified that milk makes up more than half of the ice cream. It provides the body with minerals in the form of potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, which have a positive effect on the state of the cardiovascular system or the nervous system.

“Separately it is worth mentioning calcium, which is rich in dairy products and, in particular, ice cream. Calcium strengthens teeth and bone tissue, maintains the health of the circulatory and cardiovascular systems, and also serves as the best prevention of osteoporosis,” the expert clarified.
Stepochkina added that ice cream gives the body the most important vitamin D for maintaining health in autumn, and only in milk , which it contains, there are up to 30 different vitamins. In addition, the use of ice cream encourages the body to produce the “happiness hormone” serotonin, which helps to cope with stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia.
