Drinking coffee without sugar helps you lose weight

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported that scientists have confirmed the ability of coffee to make a figure slimmer.

The magazine published a report on a large-scale research project, the authors of which stated that drinking coffee helps you lose weight. Scientists analyzed observational data carried out from 1986 to 2015. The objects of these observations were over 22 thousand men and almost 130 thousand women. Scientific experts monitored how people drink coffee, taking into account literally all the nuances: the amount of drink, its additives, time of consumption, etc. As a result, it was found that coffee consumed without sugar helps maintain a healthy weight or even lose weight. Sweetened versions of coffee or a drink with cream did not have this effect – only bitter coffee. Moreover, its effect was manifested even if the person drank only one cup per day.

“Increasing the consumption of unsweetened coffee, with or without caffeine, may be an effective means for controlling body weight. But adding sugar can significantly reduce the health benefits of this drink,” the publication quotes the researchers.
At the same time, they stated that coffee consumed without sugar helps control weight, provided that the person drinks it for a long time. Coffee is unlikely to work as a quick means of losing weight (although taking it has a diuretic effect and helps remove excess water, and with it body volume). But the habit of drinking coffee really helps not to gain weight and makes attempts to lose weight more effective.

“The main fat-burning effect of coffee is attributed to caffeine. But there is something else in the drink that helps keep your weight normal. Compared to taking caffeine alone, drinking coffee was associated with greater weight loss,” the magazine informed.
The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote that many traditional dishes eaten for breakfast are not suitable for heart patients.
