Doctor Therapist Sycheva named the main disadvantage of semolina porridge: it is oversaturated with simple carbohydrates. The doctor stated that semolina is the least healthy of the porridges, and what makes it so is the almost complete absence of fiber.

“Semolina porridge is the least healthy due to the almost complete absence of fiber in it,” the specialist said in an interview with Sputnik radio .
Sycheva recalled that fiber provides the body with B vitamins and forms nutritious intestinal microflora, useful for the growth of good bacteria. Semolina devoid of fiber has a high glycemic index, promotes the growth of adipose tissue, and causes surges in blood sugar and insulin.

“Due to the fact that there is no fiber in semolina porridge, after consuming it, our blood sugar levels rise faster blood than after whole grain porridge, for example buckwheat,” the expert warned.
