Doctor Elena Solomatina: champignons are useful due to their ability to protect the body's cells from mutation.

There are a lot of champignons in Russian stores now. Doctor Solomatina told Moscow 24 why this product is useful. In particular, she called champignons effective in preventing cancer

“Champignons are positioned as a product for slowing down the development of cancer. They protect cells from mutation,” the doctor stated.
Elena Solomatina explained that the positive effect of champignons on the body is ensured by their rich composition. These mushrooms, for example, contain one of the most potent antioxidants, selenium. In addition, champignons are a source of B vitamins necessary for the normal functioning of the nervous system, brain, and copper.

“Lack of selenium leads to various diseases of the thyroid gland, hypothyroidism. Copper is essential for the production of connective tissue, which is the quality of our skin. A lack of this element can lead to sagging. B vitamins improve metabolic processes,” the expert listed.
Solomatina added that eating champignons also helps prevent atherosclerosis. The product contains a lot of fiber, which can help reduce levels of sugar, cholesterol and lipids in the blood.

The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote that sauerkraut is among the products that protect the skin from aging and disease.
