Endocrinologist Dilyara Lebedeva: the health of the thyroid gland largely depends on the abundance of certain microelements and vitamins.

Doctor Lebedeva reminded the Russians that that one of the most important substances ensuring the well-being of the thyroid gland is iodine.

“You can support the health of the thyroid gland with seafood and iodized salt, as they contain a large amount of iodine,” the specialist clarified in her Telegram channel.
What you also need to get in abundance for the thyroid gland to function well is protein. Its use provides the body's cells with tyrosine, which serves as their building material.

“Strive to get at least one gram of protein per kilogram of your body weight every day,” Dilyara Lebedeva shared her recommendation.
Which other nutrients should be present in the diet that strengthen the thyroid gland: iron, zinc, selenium, vitamin D, vitamin A, the endocrinologist listed.

Lebedeva drew attention to the fact that substances useful for the thyroid gland cannot always be obtained from food.

“It is not always possible to obtain them in the required quantity only from food. Therefore, if there is a deficiency, you need to take them additionally,” the specialist postulated.
The decision to take such substances should be made by a doctor based on the results of special tests.
