Gastroenterologist Maria Kolesnikova explained why sudden cravings for food with different tastes can occur.

Doctor Kolesnikova noted in a comment to “AiF” that unexpected and unusual at first glance food addictions often arise as a result of some negative changes in the state of the body. In many cases, this indicates a lack of some nutrients – vitamins or microelements, essential fats.

Maria Kolesnikova emphasized that if an addiction to certain foods or their combination appears regularly, but a person does not suffer from indigestion, most likely the body is trying to compensate for the lack of components contained in them.

“When everything is normal with health , a person will not experience a constant and uncontrollable craving for something,” the specialist is convinced.
Kolesnikova clarified why an addiction to sweet, salty or fatty foods occurs.

Craving for sweets. If a person not only wants to eat something sweet, but uncontrollably eats a lot of it at once, a protein deficiency is possible. The diet should include sources of beca in the form of meat, fish, eggs, cottage cheese, legumes.

What else may be missing: chromium, B vitamins, amino acids.

Craving for salty foods . May be a signal of a lack of fluid, water.

Craving for fatty foods. Often observed with calcium deficiency.

Craving for meat and cheese . In the first case, it may indicate a lack of protein or iron, in the second – a lack of vitamin B₁₂.

Kolesnikova added that food cravings can also be influenced by taking supplements or medications. The doctor stated that due to the uncontrolled use of some food additives or vitamins, or medications in the body, the balance of various important substances can be significantly disrupted.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that cardiologist Sergei Vasiliev called the products with good and bad fats.
