“Contain potassium”: nutritionist Kruglova called apples good for the heart

Nutritionist Natalya Kruglova said that including apples in your daily diet helps protect against heart disease.

Nutritionist Kruglova noted in an interview with Sputnik radio that people who eat apples provide their bodies with such a “heart” microelement as potassium.

“Apples contain potassium. This is important for the cardiovascular system. In addition, apples contain organic acids, which are antioxidants for us,” the doctor listed the beneficial properties of fruits.
Natalya Kruglova added that apples are a source of a large amount of soluble and insoluble dietary fiber, including pectin. This type of fiber is especially useful for the intestines, as it stimulates the development of its good bacteria and, thanks to such an improvement in microflora, helps strengthen the immune system and cognitive health.

The nutritionist drew attention to the fact that even people with excess weight and impaired carbohydrate metabolism can eat two to three apples a day.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about how much sugar apples can contain.
