Gastroenterologist Dilyara Lebedeva told what to do at the first signs of ARVI – a sore throat and chills.
— After all, autumn is just around the corner, and for many it is the cold season! At the first signs of a sore throat or chills, follow my plan, I am sharing, — the doctor wrote in her blog.
1. Unloading and cleansing: 36 hours without solid food. Only soups and decoctions of medicinal herbs.
2. Recovery and hydration — drink up to three liters of water, stay in bed.
3. Do not bring down the temperature below 38.5C, this way you prevent the body from fighting viruses.
4. For a sore throat and runny nose, do inhalations with saline every 4 hours and rinse the nose with a slightly salted solution 2 times a day. You can use sea or Himalayan salt.
Lebedeva recommends “shock doses of vitamins” in the first three days (consult your doctor):
Vit. D – 50,000 IU;
Zinc – 50 mg;
Vit. A – 25,000 – 50,000 IU;
Vit. C – 3-5 g – divide into several doses;
Probiotics 10 – 15 mrd.
The first symptoms of ARVI (acute respiratory viral infection) can appear gradually:
- Nasal congestion or discharge from it.
- Dry or wet, can appear in the early stages.
- Feeling of discomfort or pain when swallowing.
- Frequent sneezing.
- General feeling of fatigue and weakness.
- Temperature.
- Headaches or discomfort in the head.
