Nutritionist Pedorić told which food combinations are best avoided in your daily diet. The expert named meat and potatoes as one of the most “difficult” combinations for the gastrointestinal tract.

“You need to be careful when eating meat with potatoes or bread. Proteins combined with simple carbohydrates can cause bloating and increased gas formation,” the specialist explained in an interview with Lenta.ru.
Another example of an unsuccessful food combination is dairy products and fruits. In addition, the nutritionist advised against combining fruits with starchy foods, such as cereals.

“Sour fruits in combination with foods with a high starch content can cause slow digestion and discomfort, so, for example, you should not eat porridge with orange,” Anna Pedorić shared.
Other difficult food combinations for the gastrointestinal tract:

  • Eggs with bacon;
  • Chicken with mushrooms;
  • Alcohol with any dessert.

How to understand that the products were eaten in the wrong combination. After eating them, bloating, heaviness in the stomach, heartburn, flatulence occur. A person may also vomit.

How to normalize digestion. The specialist recommended drinking water and taking enzyme preparations when symptoms of discomfort appear after eating. In addition, prebiotics and probiotics will be useful.
