According to foreign cardiologist Elisabeth Klodas, healthy fats are one of the key foods that are good for blood vessels and good blood supply.

Cardiologist Klodas listed in an interview with the publication “Eat this, Not that!” the main factors influencing the occurrence of diseases of the cardiovascular system:

  • high cholesterol;
  • high blood pressure;
  • excess sugar, contained in the blood;
  • excess weight.

The specialist noted that all of these circumstances are closely related to people’s eating habits.

“In many ways, the development of dangerous diseases of the heart and blood vessels is associated with what we eat,” said Elizabeth Klodas.
The cardiologist emphasized that with a healthy diet, the risk of suffering from cardiovascular pathologies is significantly reduced. Healthy fatty acids play a special role in the health of the heart and blood vessels, she added. Klodas informed that healthy fats help thin the blood.

“Omega-3 fatty acids have an anti-inflammatory effect, help thin the blood, preventing the formation of blood clots,” the doctor said.
The doctor advised eating fatty fish – this habit protects against problems with high blood pressure and cholesterol, prevents harmful fats accumulate in the blood.

What is also very important for blood vessels and the heart is the consumption of fiber contained in vegetables, fruits and whole grains, as well as sufficient physical activity and a low level of stress in everyday life, the cardiologist shared.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that discomfort arising from eating may indicate cancer.
