Cardiologist German Gandelman named the beneficial properties of instant coffee.

Cardiologist Gandelman said on the set of the program “Live Healthy!” that instant coffee is suitable for people with cardiovascular diseases. The doctor drew attention to the fact that such coffee practically does not contain cafestol – a substance that increases cholesterol.

“Whole (brewed) coffee contains cafestol, which increases cholesterol by 8-10 percent. Accordingly, this increases the risk of developing atherosclerosis. There is practically no cafestol in instant coffee, 24 times less,” shared German Gandelman.
At the same time, he added, brewed coffee contains significantly more caffeine, a substance that increases brain activity.

The doctor also noted that coffee does not raise blood pressure as much as many people think. Moreover, drinking it can have the effect of hypotension – a decrease in blood pressure. The cardiologist explained that drinking coffee slightly increases the heart rate and, along with it, blood pressure. But such an increase is not very significant and, in addition, the diuretic effect of coffee is manifested, causing the body to lose water, which can reduce its pressure.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that regular consumption of lemon helps to reduce blood pressure.
