Urologist Grigoriev: morning urination in men can suggest prostate adenoma

Urologist Nikolai Grigoryev: changed morning urination in men is usually the first noticeable symptom of prostate adenoma.

Urologist Grigoryev advised mature men to pay attention to their morning urination. The doctor stated that changes in this process can be used to suspect prostate adenoma – a benign enlargement (hyperplasia) of the prostate gland, which can degenerate into a malignant one. A sign of adenoma is an increase in the time until the appearance of a stream of urine. In general, the morning trip to the toilet becomes longer.

“In the presence of prostate adenoma, the time before the onset of urination increases significantly compared to the period when the man was healthy,” Grigoriev told Gazeta.Ru.
The proctologist explained that such a change is caused by compression of the urethra by the enlarged prostate gland. At the beginning of prostate disease, a man experiences difficulty urinating – a stream does not appear immediately. As the adenoma develops, urination becomes more and more difficult – you have to not just wait for a stream of urine to appear, but push yourself.

Grigoriev emphasized that this pathology develops slowly and does not have any specific manifestations for a long time. The specialist called ultrasound of the prostate gland the best way to identify the problem in a timely manner, which men should perform at least once a year, starting at age 45.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that the risk of developing cancer is significantly reduced by giving up five bad habits.
