“The bacteria that causes botulism may develop”: doctor Loginov called unwanted food in the heat

Doctor Loginov said that there is an undesirable weather food – it spoils too quickly and threatens a person with the development of bacterial infections.

“First of all, we need to minimize the presence of meat and seafood in the menu. These products, if stored and prepared incorrectly, can be contaminated with E. coli and salmonella,” the specialist warned in a commentary to Lente.ru.
Also, Loginov added, canned food, sausages, dried fish, and various smoked foods are undesirable foods in hot weather. In them, he emphasized, the bacteria that causes botulism can develop.

In addition, the doctor advised to remember that in the hot summer the risk of poisoning caused by the consumption of eggs and dairy products (including cheese) increases.

“Raw or undercooked eggs can contain salmonella, and campylobacter can grow on the shell. Several types of dangerous bacteria that cause poisoning multiply in dairy products,” said Vladimir Loginov.
The doctor advised washing your hands more often in hot weather, keeping kitchen surfaces clean and not keeping cooked food out of the refrigerator for more than 2 hours. It is better not to store dishes with fatty sauces and mayonnaise even in the refrigerator; they should be eaten immediately freshly prepared.
