Pulmonologist Yana Isaeva: loud snoring is often associated with apnea, which can lead to complications in the form of disorders in the cardiovascular system.

Pulmonologist Isaeva stated that cardiac problems are the cause of many deaths in sleep. The doctor also drew attention to the fact that people who snore loudly are at risk of dying in their sleep. The doctor explained that such snoring often indicates the presence of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA), in which sleeping people experience respiratory arrest.

Isaeva clarified that snoring itself can directly influence the fact that a person suddenly dies in his sleep, but the likelihood of such an event is still very low. What is more likely is the development of complications with long-standing and untreated snoring, which can lead to life-threatening conditions.

The doctor drew attention to the fact that a person who snores loudly in his sleep may have cardiovascular abnormalities, including arrhythmia, hypertension, heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension. All these pathologies can become a trigger for those processes that cause death in a dream

“Of course, death from snoring is possible, but in extremely rare cases, since the brain knows how to wake up in time. Much more often, people slowly develop complications as a result of snoring and eventually die from them. This happens everywhere,” pulmonologist Yana Isaeva told Vechernaya Moskva.
The doctor advised snorers not to leave their nighttime snoring unchecked, contact medical specialists, and undergo the necessary examination. The expert emphasized that complications of apnea can be various disorders, it is better to identify them in a timely manner.

The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote that the cause of bad dreams can be mental disorders.
