Doctor Chekhonina spoke about drinks that are especially useful for quenching thirst in heat. The doctor noted that in conditions of hot weather and intense sweating, you should drink mineral water – its intake protects against deterioration of health, weakness and disorders caused by the intense loss of microelements that leave the body along with moisture.

“In summer, heat and movement together lead to the fact that we lose not only moisture from the body, but also minerals. Mineral water partly helps us replenish them and protects us from the adverse effects of increased loss of electrolytes (magnesium and potassium) – from spasms of the calf muscles,” Yulia Chekhonina shared with kp.ru.
The doctor also advised preparing homemade lemonade (water, lemon, mint , basil), unsweetened compotes and fruit drinks. Such drinks will also provide the body with the minerals it needs, contained in greens and fruits.

Chekhonina also included fermented milk drinks, such as kefir, ayran, tan, zharma and others, in the list of the most useful hot summer drinks. Such drinks are fermented: they contain lactic acid bacteria, which have a positive effect on the state of the intestinal microbiota.
