Doctor Andrei Kondrakhin spoke about “universal ways” to improve your well-being when your blood pressure has risen.

Cases when your blood pressure rises do not always require medical intervention – you can lower it at home. Doctor Kondrakhin told Vechernyaya Moskva how this can be done. The doctor noted that a jump in blood pressure is usually caused by anxiety, so to normalize it, you first need to try to calm down. Sedatives can help relieve anxiety.

“Any sedatives lead to normalization of the condition. When a person is calm and not nervous, the pressure can naturally decrease,” said Kondrakhin.
The horizontal position of the body also helps reduce pressure, that is, you need to lie down. According to the doctor, this allows you to normalize the blood supply to the kidneys, and therefore general blood pressure can normalize.

Another way is to drink moderately hot (about 40 degrees) water in very small sips. In this case, a person’s coronary vessels reflexively dilate, which leads to a decrease in pressure.

In addition, a soft, delicate massage of the collar area helps reduce pressure.
